It seems no matter where you go in the world no one can resist the Wild West spirit of the Calgary Stampede. Proof of that came in a miniature version of ‘the Greatest Outdoor Show on earth' that was staged on the University of Calgary - Qatar campus. University of Calgary - Qatar students, faculty and staff celebrated the awarding of research grants recently by the Qatar National Research Fund. The 18 undergraduate students that will be participating in the 4 projects that were funded received a certificate of recognition from Interim Dean Sheila Evans.

the UK Department of Health has announced all new nurses in England will have to be educated to degree level from 2013. "Many nursing roles are demanding and involve increasingly advanced levels of practice and clinical knowledge."
Although much has changed in 40 years, the high standard of nursing education set in those early days still remains, says Dean Dianne Tapp. “Teaching and learning in the Faculty of Nursing continue to evolve in ways that advance experiential learning, evidence-informed clinical practice and high-quality engagement between students and faculty members."
